Your Daily Commute and Back Pain

Back pain is becoming much more prominent in American society for a number of reasons, and because of this increase in cases, the topic of back pain is much more serious than ever. Your local Grayslake chiropractor would like you to know a number of things that can actually cause your back pain, and give you some ideas on how to fix those problems.

One of the biggest problems that people in cities have is that they are constantly using public transportation. Granted, this is a good thing because it saves on energy and causes less stress, but a lot of people don’t understand how to take care of their back during the commute. If you’re sitting or standing for long periods of time, the likelihood that your back is going to have pain goes up significantly.

There are a number of ways that you can prevent the pain from your daily commute. The first is to make sure that you use proper posture when you sit in the seats; if you are sitting for too long and you are slouching, the chances that your back will hurt go way up. The other issue happens with your shoes; if you are wearing dress shoes or heels while walking to and from your transport, you’re going to feel the pain. Change your shoes, but don’t just change into flip-flops or crocs. Instead, change into sneakers or another type of shoe that offers support. This will help both your feet and your back.

By taking the proper measures, you too can reduce your back pain, get a better night’s sleep, and allow you to enjoy life more than you have been able to. Contact your local Grayslake chiropractor for more information about what you can do for your back pain.
